Le LIP6 est un laboratoire de recherche en informatique sous tutelle de l'Université Pierre & Marie Curie, et du CNRS (UMR 7606). Avec 195 chercheurs permanents et 254 doctorants, il est l'un des principaux laboratoires de recherche en informatique en France.
The Laboratoire d'Informatique de Paris 6, or LIP6, the computer science laboratory of Pierre & Marie Curie University (UPMC), is a joint research laboratory of UPMC and CNRS, the French national research organization. It was founded in January, 1997, with the fusion of three smaller laboratories: LAFORIA, LITP, and MASI. Employing over 150 permanent professors and research scientists, LIP6 is one of the largest computer science laboratories in France.
