Services involved in composition are accessed using the Enterprise Service Bus capabilities (EasyESB or PEtALS DSB). The API provides integration mechanisms and techniques for making heterogeneous services communicate and interoperate. It is based on a service discovery protocol for retrieving and querying services in the runtime context. Using this service discovery protocol, the runtime environment and the governance framework are fully synchronized: When a service appear or disappear, the governance engine is notified and updates its knowledge.
