Vidzemes Augstskolas a?ent?ra “Sociotehnisku Sist?mu Inženierijas Instit?ts / [Socio-technical Systems Engineering Institute|http://www.socsimnet.com/] of  Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences was founded in 2006.  It is a public funded scientific institution registered in the Register of Scientific institutions of Latvia. Research themes include: logistics information systems and RFID technologies; business process modelling and regional planning; hybrid and distributed simulation systems; e-democracy, a socio-technical evaluation and use of virtual and augmented reality in the training process. The logistics information systems and RFID laboratory was used for joint professional and academic research as a public-private partnership.
