EasyVIPER is a generic workflow engine. VIPER stands for VIrtual Process Engine with Reconfiguration.
Indeed its architecture is based on Frascati, a component-based framework following the SCA standard allowing to reconfigure the engine and workflows at runtime.

It is mainly used in relationship with EasyBPEL but is able to accept any upper model managing processes execution. The Intent concept coming from SCA standard allows to add non functional operations like debugging, persistance or monitoring.

The component-based mechanism allows to introspect into executing workflows and to modify at runtime some of their components for adaptation.

This particularity brings adaptation features for long and dynamic workflows.
